At 88 storeys and as one of the tallest buildings in the world the Petronas Twin Towers are definitely worth a visit. They are impressive themselves from the streets below but if you’d like to go up to the top, ticket sell out fast and early so get there between 7.00-8.00am and start queuing for a ticket for one of the allotted tours. The tickets cost 50 MYR for adults and give you access to the sky bridge and the observation deck.
How to get there:
The Petronas Twin Towers are located 5 minutes from the LRT station ‘KLCC’ on the Kelana Jaya line. From ‘KL Sentral’ station simply take the Kelana Jaya line towards ‘Gombak’ and travel 5 stops to ‘KLCC’. Most exits from this station come out into the KLCC Suria shopping center, follow signs to the Petronas Twin Towers for tickets or simply walk outside of any exit and look up to see them from the ground!
Around the Area:
As I’ve mentioned the LRT station comes out into KLCC Suria, an up market arctic-ly air conditioned shopping centre, it’s worth taking some time out of the heat to do some window shopping.
There is also Kuala Lumpur City Centre Park directly behind the towers, follow signs from inside the shopping centre and you will come out into the park at Lake Symphony. If you’re here early the lake creates an amazing mirror of the city skyline when the sun is still fairly low in the sky. The park is a great place to take in the towers, and chill out.
