The Whitsunday islands just off the east coast of Australia are amongst the most popular yachting destinations in the world! There are a total of 75 islands each as stunning as the next, around 70% of the islands are protected Marine and national park.

I went on a 2 night, 3 day cruise and after some scuba diving we headed onto the islands, you can expect crystal clear turquoise waters and white sand beaches (the sand is so fine, apparently its the same sand NASA uses to make its glass products.. so im told anyway!) Of course as soon as we got onto the island it was time to take some obligatory Whitsunday island photos…

Although the islands where amazing sitting on a boat in a storm was not my idea of fun, and the seasickness was definitely not a bonus!

How to get to the Whitsunday islands? The most common way is to travel to Airlie Beach which is just north of Brisbane, from here you can get on a boat to the islands. Yachting cruises normally last between 2 days and a week and are available in a whole range of boats depending on your price range!
