With P&O now offering ferries to Belgium straight from Hull, there has never been a better time to head over to Belgium for a trip, here my list of things not to miss when you go!

My favourite thing to do in any city is to wander and Brussels just has the perfect setting for this. With long picturesque canals to follow and small cobbled streets stretching off them it’s easy to get lost in your own fairytale while wandering around!

Chocolate is one of the first things that comes to mind when you think of Belgium and a trip just wouldn’t be complete without a visit to one of the chocolate museums and of course enjoying sampling some of the chocolate yourself.

Sampling many of the four hundred and fifty plus varieties of beer found in Belgium is also high on my list, find yourself an old school pub and sample some extravagant sounding beer that comes served in its own particular glass, which is believed to enhance its flavour. It’s easy to get lost in pubs for a whole day or two here just sampling different beer varieties, but you can also take a brewery tour to find out more about how it’s made!

Not to be missed if you are interested in art is the museum of fine arts, with art encompassing a massive six centuries, with that much art it would be hard not to find something you like!!

All cultured out? Try visiting Antwerp for a shopping trip but don’t forget to look as your shop, the centre of Antwerp is full of an eclectic mix of both medieval and contemporary building which a create a stunning looking city centre! At night experiences the unique ‘funky’ bars and nightlife Antwerp has to offer.

Bruges has a city centre closed off to cars, so relax while your boat punts you along the quiet canals. With no cars to clutter the centre the true history shines through the streets and with all the unesco sites you may feel almost as though you have been transported back in time!
